Beautiful Coffee Cup Sphere Lamp

| Electronics News|

Electronics News | Beautiful Coffee Cup Sphere Lamp | If you’re a coffee addict, then you’ve gone through your fair shar of disposable coffee cups.  Now instead of trashing them constantly and contributing to the local dump’s size, you can use those cups to add a little bit of lighting in your home.  Then after the project is finished you’ll have a very modern looking disco ball.  To get one you’ll just have to follow the Instructables tutorial and make your own.
They suggest using the plain cheap coffee cups that you see most often in order to construct the light.  You’ll actually need a grand total of 300 of the cups.  Technically the creator caved and just bought the cups, but recycling would work just as well.  You”ll also need a stapler, electric wire with socket, energy efficient lamp, pinbolds, big washer, small washer, a heatsource and a sharp metal pen.  All together none of that should cost you a whole lot of money. Source: Instructables

USB 3.0 Video Streaming Chip From DisplayLink

| Electronics News|
Electronics News | USB 3.0 Video Streaming Chip From DisplayLink | Small wonder why USB 2.0 technology doesn't score as a proper video carrier. Attempts to push 3D video game graphics or a movie in HD result in glitches from low frame rates (60fps and 27fps respectively). DisplayLink, USB 2.0 video streaming pioneer, has sold a million of their specialized chips last year. But you have probably guessed already that the latest USB 3.0 standard brings a lot of potential into the concept. So did they, and with ten times more the bandwidth DisplayLink puts a lot of effort in designing a new USB 3.0 compatible chip. They will show it as soon as CES 2010 starts.

Video-Watch With OLED Display - Ultimate Gadget

| Electronics News|
Electronics News | Video-Watch With OLED Display - Ultimate Gadget | Just think how many things we should take with us everyday - cell phone, watch, mp3-player and etc. Moreover we should always keep in mind what exactly we want to take and even when everything is with us there is a need to be careful not to lose something. Because of this all companies, which produce different devices, try to make "all-in-one" gadgets. As a consequence all modern devices, especially cell phones, are supplied with clock, organizer, mp3-player and so on.

Think Geek Company, trying to combine as many functions as it possible in a single device, designed video-watch with OLED display. Thus, this gadget is able to show time, photos, videos and even eBooks. So instead of "boring" time you can listen to music  for example. Built-in microphone allows you to record whatever you want.
  •     Memory: built-in, 2Gb
  •     Display's resolution: 128x128 pixels
  •     Mp3-player
  •     Slide-show mode
  •     Built-in microphone
  •     3D sound
  •     Rechargeable battery - via USB
  •     Dimensions: 4x3,8x1,2cm
  •     Wristlet's length - 22cm
  •     As a unit: headphones, CD with a driver for PC, service instruction and USB cable
So, this gadget features quite a significant number of functions that make it enough competitive among modern hi-end devices. Yet, in my opinion it's better to buy a Smartphone, which for sure has more functions and bigger display. But, in case data is true and the price is just about $ 100, demand for this watch will be quite big. [source:www.gadgets-reviews.com]
