Apple has begun selling the iPhone 3G online through its US website and also offering free shipping in an effort to clear inventory.
It is unknown when the Apple online store changed to accommodate the new offering but customers can now “order directly from the Apple Online Store and have your new iPhone shipped free to your door.”
The new offer is only valid for customers new to AT&T, existing AT&T customers will have to pick their handset up at an Apple retail store.
